On June 15, 2025, the Hirova Cultural Center participated in the district festival-competition of young talents "The youth sings, the village listens", the 15th edition, held in the village of Meleșeni, Călărași district. The event was organized by the Călărași Directorate of Culture and Tourism, with the support of the district vice-president, Mrs. Florea Margareta. The festival was attended by 25 participants from various localities of the district, who presented over 60 musical pieces – both from the folk repertoire and pop music.
The village of Hirova was proudly represented by Marian Georgiana, who won second place in the 13–15 age category in the pop music section, and received an honorable mention in the folk music section in the same age group. Her performance was appreciated by both the audience and the jury, demonstrating talent, emotion, and thorough preparation.
We congratulate the young performer Marian Georgiana, who once again brought Hirova to the festival podium, and we extend our sincere thanks to Mr. Nicolae Ghilușcă, head of the Hirova Cultural Center, for his involvement and dedication. This is already the second consecutive year that representatives from Hirova return home with distinctions.
At the same time, we express our gratitude to the Călărași Department of Culture and Tourism, especially to Ms. Aliona Rău – for the impeccable organization of this event and the promotion of young talents – as well as to the mayor of Meleșeni village, Valeriu Zubcu, for the warm welcome, the support offered to all participants, and the encouragement through diplomas and awards.
